18th of November - Sapporo The statue titled Mother Earth - Boshizo-Furusato in Japanese was unveiled in the Maruyama Park of Sapporo. The unveiling ceremony was attended by the leaders of the city and the school friends of Mrs. Chiyo Wagner who helped to collect the funds to form the park and place the statue. The globular statue showing the mother with her baby in lovely embracing moment is in the center of a community space. The season's first snowfall arrived with 40 cm snow just the night before. 15th October - 15th November in Mashiko The spring exhibition was cancelled because of the damages caused by the March 11 earthquake. All damages have been repaired by now. The autumn exhibition in Wagner Nandor Art Gallery will show works of the Nandor Wagner sculptor and the works of garden architect Mr. Kazuno who designed the placement of the Garden of Philosophy in Nakano ku, Tokyo. |
6th of October - Székesfehérvár The Hungarian National Mourning Day was remembered at Corpus Hungaricum for the 12th time. After the national anthem the historical flags were file in and program remembering of the 1849 events was performed by the pupils of the II. Rákóczi Ferenc elementary school. The wrenches were placed at live martial music. The wrench of the Academia Humana Foundation was placed by Mrs. Chiyo Wagner founding president and Mrs. Yasuko Ito wife of H.E. Mr. Ito Japanese Ambassador. The wrench of the Wagner Nandor Memorial Foundation was placed by Mr. Koji Akiyama and Mr. Norihiro Katada. 5th of October - Budapest A commemorative evening for the tenth anniversary of unveiling of the Garden of Philosophy on Gellért Hill was held at Petőfi Literature Museum. Program: opening speech by H.E. Tetsuo Ito Ambassador of Japan; Mr. Tibor Wehner art historian talks about the recent results of Wagner researches; Mr. Sándor Kiss recalls the events at Garden of Philosophy. Videos about Nándor Wagner and the film of János Gulyás Corpus Hungaricum will be shown. Closing words by Mrs. Wagner Chiyo. 4th of October 4 - Nagyvárad (Oradea, Romania) The delegation from Japan visited Nándor Wagner's hometown Nagyvárad(Oradea), Romania today. A memorial event was held at his statue József Attila the poet. The event was attended by Vice Mayor Rozália Bíró and in her speech she emphesized the valuable contribution of the sculptor to the humankind. On the photo the Vice Mayor and Chiyo Wagner are posing after the wrenches of memory were placed. The lecture organized in the evening about the life and works of Nándor Wagner and the Great Tohoku Earthquake completed the day. |

16th of May - Nagyvárad (Oradea) This year's theme for competition was Castle of Nagyvárad. At the sixth competition of the Partium Christian University for Wagner Nándor Prize the students of graphic art the winners are: 1. Mr.József Balázs, 2. Ms.Klaudia Kovács, 3. divided Ms.Nóra Lázár and Ms.Catalina Mos. Special recognition went to Ms.Noémi Fazekas. The prizes were presented to the winners by Mrs.Chiyo Wagner. May - Székesfehérvár We have been searching for evidencies showing Nándor Wagner's activity in Hungary since long. Now we have found a pile of old photos taken by prof. Gyula László in December, 1951. Here you can see sculptor nándor Wagner as he is fixing demo fittings for ancient potteries found near Székesfehérvár. |

Helping the victims of Great Tohoku Earthquake Academia Humana Foundation has joined the fund rasing events in Hungary. We have been active in donation, organizing events and collecting funds. The civil organizations could collect over 10 million HUF, which has been used for school building reconstruction. |
11th of March at 14:46 an earthquake intensity 6th on the Japanese scale hit Mashiko The Spring Exhibition, the first one organized by Wagner Nándor Foundation was cancelled due to the damages of the strong earthquake in Japan. The almost five minute earthquake caused substantial damages to the city's ceramic industry and large volume of stock was broken in the shops. For the broken ceramic pieces the city allocated a dumping site. In the buildings of the foundation there were some damages also. Among the art pieces one statue was fallen down, few terracotta were broken and the statue of Prince Shotoku turned with its massive pedestal together circa 15 degrees. |
23rd February - Wagner Nándor program Our Foundation has organized an evening program at the Petőfi Literature Museum. Mr. Sandor Kiss president of the Foundation welcomed the participants and talked about the activity of our Foundation. The NHK video feature story of Mrs. Chiyo Wagner was shown. Mr. Tibor Wehner talked about the recently discovered grave statue. A documentary film made by Mr. János Gulyás titled Wagner Nándor's Swedish period and standing statues was shown. |
9th of February So far unknown art piece of Wagner Nándor came in plaster to us. The Hungarian Dancers was made in Sweden most probably at the beginning of 1960-ies. The relief was cast in bronze. Size 350x430 mm. |
January - Change of the Name After a longer period of preparation the name of the TAO Foundation will be changed to Wagner Nándor Foundation from 1st of April this year. The foundation under the new name will continue her all activities. |
